2 Abilenians killed in wreck near Lampasas

Two Abilene residents died Sunday evening after the car they were traveling in Collided head on with another vehicle north of Lampasas.
Ricky Anthony Rodriguez, 36, was traveling north on U.S. 183 when a southbound vehicle driven by Micheal Burke, 19, of Georgetown, veered into Rodriguez's lane.
The Vehicles collided about 6 p.m. Sunday three miles from North Lampasas.
A department of Transportation dispatcher in Waco said Rodriguez and his 14-year-old step daughter, Justeen Rodriguez, were Pronounced dead at the scene by Lampasas Justice of Peace Francis Porter.
Rodriguez's wife Patricia Monreal, 36, and their other daughter, 5-year-old Jillian, were taken to hospitals.
Burke was taken to a hospital in Temple with serious injuries.
DPS Trooper Shannon Simpson said investigators do not know yet whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.
"We are just waiting for the(toxicolgy) results to come back to see what's going to happen next," he said
