Hi there. It's Lala. My cousin and I have a request for you all. Friday, April 25, 2008 is the National Day of Silence. All over the world, gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, and anyone else who doesn't identify as "straight" are silenced for their preferences. They cannot speak out in defense of themselves and their way of life, for fear of becoming the targets of ridicule, hate, and violence.

On Friday, I would like all of you to be silent for the day, to echo the silence we face every day of our lives. It doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, or whatever - you can do your part to help us end the silence for good. For those that will participate, I thank you very much. Your silence on this day means more than you can imagine.
