I was going to leave it but its such a sad feeling seeing my old friends become more and more feminist so I responded.

For those who are interested, it was not simply because they can’t handle mood swings. The effects were quite a bit worse than the side effects for women.

“The 320 men who participated in the research reported a whopping 1,491 adverse events, and the researchers running the trial determined that 900 of these events were caused by the injectable contraceptive.Nearly a quarter of participants experienced pain at the injection site, nearly half got acne, more than 20 percent had a mood disorder, 38 percent experienced an increased sexual drive, and 15 percent reported muscle pain. Other, rarer side effects included testicular pain, night sweats, and confusion. One study participant died by suicide, though the researchers determined it wasn’t related to the birth control. Twenty men dropped out of the study because of the side effects. For the safety reviewers, this was simply not an acceptable rate of side effects for otherwise healthy men who were taking the injection not for some disease but for the purpose of preventing pregnancy.”

http://www.vox.com/platform/amp/2016/11/2/13494126/male-birth-control-study%3F0p19G%3De?client=safari

Despite this, most of the men taking the injections said they would want to carry on with it.

Participants were given injections of progesterone and testosterone, and 75 percent of them reported that they would be willing to use this birth-control method after the trial ended.

http://nymag.com/thecut/2016/11/the-real-reason-the-male-birth-control-study-was-halted.html

Its also quite ineffective. A 96% success rate sounds high but its still no where near as good as the female pill.

Throughout the efficacy phase, which lasted up to a year, the men were given injections every two months. During this time four pregnancies occurred among the partners of 266 participants – a rate of 1.57 per 100 users. The combined contraceptive pill, for comparison, has a rate of less than 1 pregnancy per 100 women who use it.

https://www.newscientist.com/article/2110729-male-contraceptive-pill-works-but-side-effects-halt-trial/

Please feel free to take these sources and use them to educate people. It saddens me so much that the world seems to have such a low opinion of men that people are basically calling them cry babies for becoming depressed and infertile.

The first trials of the pill were dangerous for women too and I can’t find any evidence of men on mass making fun of women for the side effects. Lets be more compassionate.

Yep! His results were faked, and the entire film was basically anti-McDonald’s scaremongering, “poor people are stupid” and “fat people don’t get any sex”. It’s also thanks to this asshat that McDonald’s can’t advertise fuckin’ Happy Meals anymore and had to get rid of all their characters and their super size option, particularly because he claimed without evidence that they have a kid-fattening agenda, don’t list their nutritional info anywhere and have a mission statement from their CEO to make people sick and unhealthy from eating there for every single meal. On top of this, he actually tried to claim in a bonus experiment that McDonald’s fries aren’t actually fries because they don’t rot when left in an airtight container for a long time but all the burgers do–which is thanks to the oil and salt they’re loaded with, not some big conspiracy where the fries, which are processed and supplied by McCain in Canada, aren’t actually goddamn chopped potatoes–and equated the containers to a human stomach. Yes, cause the human stomach is an airtight container that food sits in for months, right? Spurlock, did veganism turn your brain completely off or something? Hell, the fucker even tried to claim credit for McDonald’s having salads, falsely stating at one point they didn’t have any before he “exposed” their EVIL PLANS.

Yeah, that’s another thing to remember, he’s apparently a vegan. He didn’t let anyone know he’s one, of course, he only mentioned his girlfriend is one, because it would’ve made his vomiting after a single McDonald’s meal, something literally no one else on the planet has done, seem less ZOMG SCARY.

Want a good film of this nature? Try Tom Naughton’s Fat Head instead, a film where a guy actively proves Spurlock wrong by actually losing weight while eating nothing but fast food for a month. He accomplishes this by NOT fucking gorging himself on the unhealthiest food choices, eating more meals than he claims or cutting out his usual physical activity. While he’s at it, he also exposes exactly why Spurlock is a total fraud. In the process, he gets actual doctors and nutrition experts to help him explain why everything you know about healthy eating is probably wrong or half-true, inform us about good and bad cholesterol, expose the real reasons behind the so-called “obesity epidemic” and point out why fat =/= unhealthy by default. Yeah, Naughton encourages viewers to try the paleo diet in the end, but at least it comes off more as a suggestion and doesn’t demonize anyone in the process.

1/2 yellow onion, diced
1 celery rib, diced
1 carrot, peeled and diced
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon minced thyme
2 teaspoons minced sage
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
2 1/2 cups chicken stock
2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
12 ounces gnocchi
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Place butter in a large saucepan and melt over medium-high heat.
2. Add onion, celery, carrots, and garlic, season with salt and pepper and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes or until vegetables begin to turn translucent. Add thyme and sage and continue to sauté for 1 minute.
3. Stir in flour and cook for about 2 minutes, continuing to stir, to remove the raw flour flavor as well as any dry flour pockets.
4. Whisk milk into the vegetable-flour mixture and stir until no lumps remain. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes or until the mixture begins to thicken.
5. Stir the stock into the soup mixture and add the shredded chicken. Season with salt and pepper.

I hate this. It's a skewed and inaccurate portrayal meant to demean and mislead. Beyonce helped create the Survivor Foundation, which helps disaster victims, works with several charities like several other charities including Chime for Change, Girl Up, Elevate Network, International Planned Parenthood Federation, Girls Inc. of Greater Houston, and I Was Here, she served as ambassador for the 2012 World Humanitarian Day, she's unbelievably successful while being an actress, singer, song writer, dancer and choreographer, her net worth is $300 MILLION. I mean, I don't like her music, but to misrepresent her like this is just a really shitty tactic to undermine Michele Obama in a vaguely tangential manner. Trump is shitty, and it's totally understandable that Michele Obama would be horrified that Trump bragged about being able to get away with sexual assault because he's famous and said many unbelievably awful things. As well, saying Beyonce is a role model is perfectly reasonable considering who Beyonce is and what she's done. Fuck, this whole thing is one big fallacious misdirection.

"" Well, hey, quite a few of the self-proclaimed feminists that I run into are very bad ones. The ones who hold institutional and media power are almost all a basketcase of almost Trump-level deplorables.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUna51rI_eQ

No feminists went out and protested this. She’s still on the air.

For instance, domestic violence.

<img500*0:stuff/aj/1005/1475414609.jpg>

No one ever called out Jezebel magazine over that… except us evil MRAs, of course.

Let’s also look at the Duluth Model of Domestic Violence (http://www.theduluthmodel.org/about/faqs.html), which even government sources acknowledge is the de facto law of the land (https://www.crimesolutions.gov/PracticeDetails.aspx?ID=17):

"On the societal level, women’s violence against men has a trivial effect on men compared to the devastating effect of men’s violence against women."

The Duluth Model was created by two women’s rights activists. It also ignores many key factors that play a role in violence (reciprocation, self-defense, use of weapons, etc.). It makes it abundantly clear that if you're a man, calling for help while being abused will likely see you're call ignored, you made out to be the aggressor (according to the Duluth model), or even leading to your arrest (even if it's just at her word and you're physically injured while she was not).

<img500*0:stuff/aj/1005/1475415707.jpg>

Look what happens when we try to talk about battered men:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qodygTkTUYM

Now, moving on to rape culture.

Women who rape boys and even babies get no time in jail, and there is no feminists protesting them at all.

Self-described feminists defend women raping underaged boys and say it shouldn’t be punished with jail (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2009/nov/29/barbara-ellen-madeleine-martin-comment). Where are the feminists protesting this aspect of rape culture?

Other self-described feminists say that underaged boys can consent to sex with women so they should get punished with child support if she has a kid (http://www.tampabay.com/news/courts/he-says-he-said-no-to-sex-now-says-no-to-child-support/1183449). Again, where are the feminists calling this out as part of rape culture?

Woman Who Recorded Herself Raping 1-Year-Old Son Will Not Go To Jail (http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/crime/woman-who-recorded-baby-rape-faces-music). She molested her son to make money to buy a laptop. I’m still waiting for feminists to protest this like they did Brock Turner.

Paedophile sisters who abused boy, 6, for over a decade dodge prison after judge says they would be ‘too isolated’ - Julie Fellows, 30, and her sister Jennifer, 32, targeted the youngster over a period spanning ten years (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/1641064/paedophile-sisters-who-abused-a-boy-when-he-was-aged-just-six-have-been-spared-jail-because-theyre-both-deaf/). This happened in 2016. How come feminists never raised hell about this?

Male statutory rape victim of woman rapist forced to pay child support (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/09/02/statutory-rape-victim-child-support/14953965/?siteID=je6NUbpObpQ-b18NdOTBylcDTcwnloPoGA). Where were the feminist protests about this?

Hermesmann v. Seyer (State ex rel. Hermesmann v. Seyer 847 P.2d 1273 (Kan. 1993)) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermesmann_v._Seyer) was a precedent-setting Kansas, United States case in which Colleen Hermesmann successfully argued that a woman is entitled to sue the father of her child for child support even if conception occurred as a result of a criminal act committed by the woman. The case was brought in her name by the then Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services. Again, no protests.

White women who rape boys generally get light sentences (http://www.damemagazine.com/2015/04/20/white-women-teachers-who-rape-get-easy). Again, no protests.

Others who call themselves feminists even ask why should we believe men who say they were raped (http://www.feministcurrent.com/2014/12/15/why-are-we-supposed-to-believe-shia-labeouf/). The feminist response to this? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This happens because society sees women as prey, not predators (https://www.amazon.com/When-She-Was-Bad-Innocence/dp/0140243887?ie=UTF8&redirect=true) - and mainstream feminist culture has a strong hand in perpetuating this myth. The feminists with political power perpetuate this myth by pushing the propaganda of Toxic Masculinity (http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/wiki/Toxic_masculinity) – the idea that “maleness” and “male culture”, particularly the Patriarchy, is responsible for rape culture. These people never admit any responsibility for women’s behavior because they push the narrative that without any “Patriarchy” around, women would do no evil (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3253874/Katy-Perry-kissed-groped-worse-wear-fan-inviting-stage-Rio-concert.html).

What I am asking you here, consistently, is, where are feminists actually protesting and counteracting this institutionalized prejudice against men?

To date this is where all conversations with self-declared feminists go awry. ""
